60-member medical team dispatched for second coronavirus case in Egypt

Egypt’s Health Ministry has dispatched a medical team of 60 doctors and nurses to the workplace of the country’s second confirmed coronavirus case to conduct a comprehensive medical survey of anyone who might contacted the patient, medical sources announced Tuesday.

The sources stated that samples taken from the second case, a foreigner of Canadian citizenship, tested positive.

PCR tests were also conducted for the 1,500 workers at the site, with the sources confirming that the samples will be taken in for analysis.

The workplace has been quarantined with no workers allowed to leave or enter.

During the two week quarantine period the medical team will take samples every two days, measure temperatures three times a day, monitor the general health condition of everyone there and provide full medical care.
