The Court said the presidential poll that saw the re-election of President Peter Mutharika in May 2019 for another five-year term will be nullified.
The Court ruled the new elections are to be held within 150 days.
“We further order that a afresh election be held in accordance with the law and pursuant to directions we will make soon,” Judge Healey Potani said. “We also order that elections should be held within 150 days”
Mutharika won May’s elections with 38.6 per cent ahead of Lazarus Chakwera with 35.4 per cent.
