CAR customs seize 2 trucks with counterfeit alcohol

Two trucks with illegal alcoholic beverages have been nabbed in Béloko, a locality located in the west of the Caentral African Republic (CAR), almost on the border with Cameroon.

Director General of Customs Colonel Frédéric-Théodore Inamo advised that the seized products were dangerous to the health and safety of the citizens.

“According to the law, we will incinerate these products during the week,” he stated.

Minister of Finance and Budget Henri-Marie Dondra commended the actions of the customs officers and reiterated the government’s commitment to implement all the relevant security measures at the borders of CAR in order to cease all imports of prohibited products, such as counterfeit alcohol or narcotics, into the country.
