A Northern Cape woman claimed that she was raped seven times by a man who had offered to drive her home, the police department revealed on Friday.
According to police report, the 38-year-old man had raped the 25-year-old woman on December 16, when she was with six friends. Once the woman left alone in his car the man drove the victim to Promiseland Village, near Kuruman, where he allegedly raped her in his car.
“The suspect reportedly also further raped her in the bushes and at his home,” Brigadier Mohale Ramatseba said.
The police official added that the woman escaped the following morning while the man was asleep and reported the matter to the police.
The perpetrator was apprehended the following day.
He was expected to appear in a Northern Cape court on Friday being accused of sexual assault.
