2 suspected killers arrested following shooting at taxi rank in Durban

The police of Durban tracked down and captured two men on suspicion of having shot down a taxi driver at a taxi rank in Leopold Street in Durban.

The 60-year-old taxi driver sustained multiple gunshot wounds when two armed gunmen fired shots at him and fled at 5:15pm on Thursday.

Police spokesman Brigadier Jay Naicker said, “He was immediately taken to hospital for medical attention with multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead on arrival.”

There were two bystanders who had been also sustained gunshot wounds and were taken to hospital for medical care.

A case of murder and attempted murder was opened at the Durban Central police station.
