11 people killed on roads over long weekend in WC

The road accidents have claimed the lives of eleven people since the start of the festive season long weekend in the Western Cape. The number of accidents has increased strongly against the background of traffic congestion of the main routes, including the N1, N2 and N7.

“We will have a no-nonsense approach and we have to stop this ongoing carnage on our roads,” Traffic Chief Kenny Africa said.

The motorists who do not comply with the rules on the roads will be punished by the provincial road officials in accordance with the law.
