A woman from Cape Town narrowly escaped with her life after yet another shootout in the city on Wednesday. Fortunately, she has survived the episode and is now in hospital receiving medical treatment.
The case of an attempted murder has been opened by the Eastern Cape police department as the elderly woman was shot and wounded in Lavender Hill.
It became known that the sporadic gunfire was opened by the unknown shooter not far from De Waal Court on Wednesday afternoon.
“A 61-year-old woman was shot and wounded by an unidentified suspect who was randomly shooting. The woman was shot and transported to a medical facility,” police spokesperson Noloyiso Rwexana said confirming the incident.
The suspected gunman is still at large as no arrests have been made in relation to the shooting.
