25 Sudanese hospitalised with unknown fever

The doctors at the Port Sudan Teaching Hospital have not yet identified what kind of fever hit the Hoshiri area. 25 patients with the same symptoms had been transported from there during the weekend.

It is reported that all these patients suffer from pain in the back and diarrhea, similar to the symptoms of malaria. However, the blood tests are to confirm if it is indeed malaria.

According to the authorities, in the past few months, different regions of Sudan registered cases of such vector-borne diseases as dengue fever, Rift Valley fever (RVF), chikungunya, and malaria.
