Four people, 13-year-old boy among them, have lost their lives being shot in a clash at a market in Kas, South Darfur state, Sudan.
On Wednesday, an eyewitness told the media that a dispute had broken out between two groups over a woman in a cafeteria at the Kas market. Both sides were armed with firearms which they didn’t hesitate to use.
The first gunshots killed three people of the two parties at once, while the 13-year-old boy had been hit by a stray bullet and died on the spot.
The shops were closed and the citizens were forced back into their homes while the exchange of fire was under way.
They indicated that the authorities had intervened, but the perpetrators fled outside the city.
