Austrian tourist trampled to death by elephant in Namibia

The Ministry of Environment and Tourism of Namibia confirmed the death of a 59-year-old Austrian tourist while on his camping trip in the country. It is reported that the man was killed by an elephant who allegedly trampled him to death.

The deceased man whose identity has not been revealed yet was a member of a tousrist group camping in the Huab River, Kunene region, western Namibia. The local police determined the place where the tourists were camping as not intended for the tourists.

It was initially reported, the man was Australian.

The police are still carrying an investigation in order to determine if any of the tourists were led by a guide.
