Nqobile Lusinga’s mother went to school to find out if the boy was in possesion of stolen money after the boy’s aunt had phoned her and complained about US$100 allegedly stolen by her nephew. When the allegations were confirmed, she informed the school workers.
While the boy’s parents were at school, they ordered him to go home and bring the change he was left with. However, he never returned to school. When the now deceased’s parents came home, they found him hanging with an electric cable around his neck.
Unable to bear the shame and disgrace, the teen had chosen to die and hanged himself from the roof trusses of his bedroom.
