School girl arrested for stabbing her schoolmate in Durban

The police officers have arrested a school girl in Durban. She is suspected of stabbing a fellow schoolmate inside their school in Isiphingo.

The incident happened after the two girls had a fight. The victim was transported to hospital.

The suspect is expected to make her appearance in court soon on attempted murder charges.

This is the third incident of stabbing in SA’s schools in October.

Earlier, three pupils were detained at Hillcrest Secondary School in Mossel Bay. They allegedly stabbed a 16-year-old pupil to death.

Another fatality was registered at Thuto Tiro Comprehensive School in Zone 10, Sebokeng, south of Johannesburg, on Monday. A 14-year-old boy died after his 15-year-old schoolmate had stabbed him with scissors.
