Former Springbok rugby hooker James Dalton, also known as “Bullet”, was caught on cellphone camera while fighting with security outside a Sea Point restaurant in Cape Town. The 47-year-old man is still in good shape!
The scuffle reportedly occurred on Saturday night and allegedly was not the first of its kind for Dalton at the venue. The Avenue Response guards can be seen trying to restrain him. Dalton then fights with one of them until they both fall to the ground. The former rugby player is believed to bite the guard’s face then.
Police spokesperson Sgt Noloyiso Rwexana advised that a case of common assault had been opened at the Sea Point police station. Yet, it didn’t bother the celebrity.
“It’s over, it’s done, it’s nothing, it’s all sorted. You can verify that. It’s a storm in a teacup,” he claimed.
According to the Avenue Response director, “there were charges, but the parties have met and it’s all sorted now.” The security guard is reportedly doing fine.
Dalton, who played for the Boks from 1994 to 2002 and was part of the 1995 World Cup winning squad, has had numerous problems with the law over the years. He was arrested and charged with such crimes as assault, attempted murder, reckless or negligent driving, crimen injuria, and resisting arrest. He also appeared in court in Pretoria several times.
