Group of unconvicted culprits busted out of Seshego detention

13 prisoners escaped from their holding cells while being in a pretrial detention centre in Seshego outside Polokwane on Friday. The police of Limpopo launched a massive manhunt and have been searching for the culprits over the weekend.

Confirming the mass escape, Limpopo police spokesperson Col Moatshe Ngoepe claimed the prisoners ran away on Friday evening.

Ngoepe averred that a special task team had been assembled to track down the prisoners.

The accusations of business robberies and of contravening the Immigration Act of SA were made against those 13 prisoners. They are now all to face additional charges of fleeing custody.
