Zimbabwe ex-president Robert Mugabe died

Former Zimbabwe president Robert Mugabe passed away at the age of 95 years.

Mugabe died in Singapore where he was seeking treatment for his illness. He was the first post-independent leader of the country.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa announced the passing of the former president via Twitter.

“It is with the utmost sadness that I announce the passing on of Zimbabwe’s founding father and former President, Cde Robert Mugabe. His contribution to the history of our nation and continent will never be forgotten. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”
