The Western Cape police confirm the death of a woman whose dead body chopped into pieces was found at her apartment building in Bellville, Cape Town, on Thursday morning.
Lynette Volschenk, aged 32, was found slaughtered at around 11:00am after the police had been called by the neighbours of the victim.
They told the police that during the Wednesday night suspicious noises had been heard coming from the apartment. But only on Thursday morning, when the colleagues of the deceased came to investigate, they caught a man wearing blue gloves inside the apartment.
“The officers conducted a preliminary investigation. They found black bags containing the body of the deceased cut in pieces,” Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana stated.
The suspect, a 24-year-old man, was arrested and is to appear in the Bellville Magistrates’ Court facing the charges of premeditated murder.
