Four people have been found dead following an apparent triple murder-suicide in Legkraal village near Mogwase, Rustenburg, the North West.
The investigators believe a 51-year-old man shot his girlfriend along with her two daughters, aged 11 and 15, before turning the gun on himself on Monday. The woman has managed to survive while her daughters passed away.
The man had reportedly forced the woman into his vehicle and took her to an open field, where he attempted to kill her. Fortunately, the woman has managed to escape and is now recovering in hospital, police spokesperson Lt-Col Amanda Funani advised.
On Tuesday morning, the police discovered the man’s Nissan bakkie burnt down about 20km away from the murder scene. The man’s remains were found inside the vehicle.
The North West police have initiated a case of double murder and attempted murder.
