Tsogo Sun employees on trial for R4m fraud

Two Tsogo Sun employees made their appearance in the Durban Specialised Commercial Crime Court. They are suspected of stealing over R4 million from the company.

According to police spokesperson Captain Simphiwe Mhlongo, Leeba Lesuthu and Jeffrey Moodley were working in the security and human resource sections of the company. They were detained on August 14.

“They allegedly created ghost employees and paid more than R4 million salaries into fictitious accounts. Preliminary investigation revealed the said salaries were ultimately withdrawn by them.”

The duo are charged with 259 counts of fraud. The next hearing is scheduled to September 12.
