Firefighter praised for good job after saving lives of CT residents

The swiftly actions of a firefighter have saved several lives preventing a possible fire accident while on the way to another accident scene in Browns Farms, Cape Town.

On Friday morning, the on-duty fire department officer attached to Gugulethu station was on the way to assist a pedestrian who had been hit in Duinefontein Road. He reportedly noticed the flames in the vicinity of Samora Machel and decided to check.

According to the city’s fire and rescue spokesperson, Jermaine Carelse, the firefighters had found “a double-storey dwelling, informal structures and a motor vehicle alight”.

The additional fire brigades were immediately called to the scene. The blaze was extinguished at 7:50am.

No one was injured during the accident.

The fire was extinguished just before 8am.
