A famous retired teacher was tortured and then killed in what appeared to be a house robbery.

Lereng Makhuza, aged 63, was found with both his hands and legs tied to a piece of steel. His house had been ransacked and there was a complete mess.

According to his niece, Louisa Basitere, 42, the robbers took four cellphones, a laptop and a printer.

The nature of his injuries suggests he had been electrocuted by the unknown invaders who were allegedly searching for something else.

“A murder case was being investigated and two suspects had been arrested in connection with Lereng’s death,” police spokesman Captain Matthews Nkoadi advised.

The police traced down and nabbed two men, aged between 20 and 30, at their hideout in Tsunami in Ga-Rankuwa. The premeditated murder charges are to be brought against them in court soon.
