16 people are being sought by the Gauteng police as they performed a business robbery at Jet Park in Boksburg this week.
A group of 15 men and one woman, who had arrived in two trucks, entered the company premises holding the security guards at gunpoint on Wednesday night, police spokesperson Captain Mavela Masondo confirmed.
The company workers were forced to load boxes of chocolates into the robbers’ vehicles. After the incident, the employees also reported that the invaders had mugged them of the cell phones fleeing the scene.
There were no injuries reported after the incident. The total damage is yet to be estimated.
A case of business robbery has been opened. No arrests have been made so far.
According to Masondo, an investigation is under way to establish if this gang is involved in other crimes, “especially where the same modus operandi was used”.
