Heinrich Rossouw, the convicted child killer responsible for the murder of 9-year-old Gershwin Johnson in August 2017, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison as a judgment for his crimes.
According to the reports, the State and the attorney of the accused signed the sentencing agreement, in which Rossouw admitted he had been under the influence of drugs when the incident had occurred.
After smoking a mix of tik, mandrax and dagga, Rossouw sat in an open field in Marula Street and at some point saw Gershwin and his younger brother, who were both on their way to school. The criminal asked the boys why they were so late to the institution, but the duo just told him to “voetsak” (“go away”).
“I got angry and grabbed Gershwin, picked him up and threw him on the ground. The younger brother ran away. I strangled him, and stabbed him in the neck, face and chest,” Rossouw revealed.
During the incident, the criminal also smashed the boy’s head with a rock he had found nearby and later hid the body and all of the evidence.
