7 children, 2 adults affected in triple car collision in Pietermaritzburg

Three light motor vehicles have collided on Alexandra Road in Pietermaritzburg injuring nine people, seven of whom are children.

On Tuesday morning at 06:59am, the ER24 personnel, along with other services, were already in attendance at the scene of the accident. The paramedics found the passengers of the crashed vehicles on the roadside.

There were two adults and seven children, aged between 7 and 9, who had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate. Luckily, no one was severely wounded.

The paramedics had provided all the patients with an appropriate initial treatment and then transported them to the nearby hospitals for further medical supervision.

The emergency services officials as well as the police left no comments about this incident. The cause of the car crash is to be determined.
