A 49-year-old male has been arrested by the police officers for alleged possession of R107,300 in counterfeit money.
According to police spokesperson Sgt Martin Xuma, the man was arrested by the Selosesha tactical response team and crime intelligence cluster officers. Some fake money was found in a shoe left in his wardrobe.
“A thorough search continued inside and outside the house and police found more counterfeit notes valued at R 105,900 wrapped with a black refuse plastic bag hidden inside (a) toilet,” Xuma advised. “In total, police confiscated R107,300 counterfeit money.”
The suspect is expected to appear in the Botshabelo Magistrates’ Court.
