In a hijacking incident, a local taxi service driver was assaulted by two men and was robbed of his car in Goodwood in Cape Town, the police officials said.
After a while, the Western Cape police busted two suspects, aged 17 and 19, and accused them of causing grievous bodily harm and hijacking on Monday. A silver Renault Duster that belongs to the victim was recovered by the police during the detention.
The suspects are said to have fled with the hijacked vehicle towards Parow where Flying Squad members intercepted them in Fransie van Zyl Drive.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Andrè Traut said the two perpetrators would face the trial on charges of attempted murder and the possession of a stolen vehicle in Parow.
