Man accused of stabbing Muckleneuk homeless appears in court

40-year-old Manusi Mothupi accused of stabbing a homeless man has made his brief appearance in the Pretoria Magistrates’ court on Monday.

The police continue to investigate whether the suspect is linked to the series of homeless murders that took place in Muckleneuk area.

Three of five men brutally killed in June this year have been recently identified, however, the true name of the perpetrator behind those crimes remains unknown to the police.

Manusi Mothupi was tracked down by the detectives last Thursday and was later released, only to be rearrested on a similar charge of attempted murder. As the court has decided, he will stay in custody until his address is verified and his innocence in the cases is proven with strong evidence.
