The Cape Town police requested help from the members of the public as the detectives had been unable to identify a body found in Bonteheuwel on Monday morning.
According to the reports, the circumstances which led to the death of a middle-aged man were linked to a local gang war. The police have neither confirmed nor refuted such claims but stated that such a version would form part of the investigation.
The crime experts are currently working on the scene on Borriehout Street, where the remains were initially discovered.
