1 killed, 4 sent to hospital after Louw Breutenbach crashed his car into parked taxi

Johannesburg traffic police confirmed the car accident caused by a famous South African TV presenter. They announced that one person was killed and four other occupants of the two collided vehicles sustained serious injuries.

30-year-old Louw Breytenbach, ‘Drama-mammas’ presenter on VIA, ploughed his car into a taxi’s trailer on Wednesday at 10:30pm. The vehicle was parked on the N3 road between the London and Modderfontein off-ramps.

According to the official report, Breytenbach was leaving Melrose Arch and was on his way home to Boksburg when his Mini Cooper rammed into the trailer on the side of the road, where four men were busy changing a flat tyre in the dark. The rest of the taxi’s passengers were waiting on the side of the road.

“A case of culpable homicide is under investigation and witness statements are being obtained,” police spokesperson Captain Mavela Masondo said.
