A brazen robbery in Phoenix left two Emergency Medical Rescue Service (EMRS) paramedics traumatised. They were responding to an unrelated accident scene when three suspects assaulted them on Wednesday night.
KwaZulu-Natal EMRS paramedics arrived on the scene to assist a patient and were loading him into the ambulance vehicle when three men came up to them with an intent to rob them, according to Phoenix Crime Watch.
The paramedics’ valuables had been stolen and the robbers had escaped the scene before the reaction unit arrived.
The affected paramedics escaped injuries but were severely traumatised by the incident.
The authorities were on the scene looking into the matter.
