Three men have been arrested by the Hawks officers in the Northern Cape. They were found in possession of drugs worth more than R3.4 million.
According to Hawks spokesperson Nomthandazo Mnisi, the suspects, aged between 25 and 45, were arrested during a disruptive operation conducted by the Hawks, Upington K9, and Upington border police.
Earlier, the Hawks members received a tip-off about the drugs being transported inside a bus.
“The assortment of drugs that includes dagga, tik (crystal meth), and mandrax tablets worth more than R3.4 million were recovered during a search and seizure operation,” Mnisi confirmed.
The suspects are expected to appear in the Upington Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
