Housebreakers are being sought by Port Elizabeth police after a robbery was committed by a group of men. It is said that the affected family’s pet pit bull was harmed during the robbery.
The official report reveals that the perpetrators robbed the house when the homeowners had gone out on Sunday night. The robbers allegedly broke in through the roof.
When the Linton Grange homeowners returned, they found their pet pepper-sprayed and locked inside one of the bedrooms and realised that their house had been robbed.
Police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu stated that a number of personal household items including TV set, PlayStation and clothing of a total cost of R37,000 had been stolen.
According to the authorities, a case of housebreaking, robbery and animal abuse has been initiated.
