One wrong move cost Drakensberg hiker’s life

A group of hikers was trekking through the Northern Drakensberg mountain range when one of the group members tripped and fell off a cliff from a height of 60 metres. The emergency services claim that the 23-year-old woman fell on a tree sustaining fatal injuries on Saturday.

According to Okhahlamba Fire & Emergency Services, she was on vacation with her boyfriend hiking with a few other friends when the incident happened.

The group members stated that, after the fall, the injured woman had still been alive and they had called the rescuers.

Unfortunately, the hiker died before the Okhahlamba Fire & Emergency Services arrived at the scene.
