Five men were injured when a man started shooting at them from a Toyota Sprinter in Uitenhage.
According to police spokesperson Sgt Majola Nkohli, the victims were standing on the corner of Grasvoel and Pelican streets in Kamesh when they were attacked. The perpetrator allegedly drove past them and fired several shots.
“All five victims started running in different directions, but unfortunately all victims sustained gunshot wounds. The motive for the shooting is unknown, and the suspects are still at large. All five victims, aged between 18 and 24, were rushed to hospital,” Nkohli advised.
The police urge anyone possessing the information that can lead to the arrest of the perpetrators to contact the investigating officer Detective Sergeant Marlon van Heerden.
