Police arrest Paarl shooter who attacked Anti-Gang Unit members

A 26-year-old man has been arrested by the police officers in Paarl. He is suspected of attacking and shooting six Anti-Gang Unit members in Samora Machel on Wednesday.

The officers were shot and injured while tracing the suspects in the area. They were attacked while apprehending a suspect who had allegedly been connected to several murders.

According to police spokesperson Brig Novela Potelwa, the members were shot from the shacks.

“As the members were searching for another suspect also sought for a serious crime in the area, shots came from one of the shacks”.

The officers were transported to hospital for treatment.
