Teen arrested for armed robbery at school in Cape Town

The police officers have arrested a pupil in connection with an armed robbery at a Sea Point high school. The suspect allegedly attacked his teacher in the middle of an exam and fled the scene with 50 cellphones.

According to police spokesperson Lt Col Andre Traut, the investigation had led the officers to a 15-year-old pupil who was arrested on Sunday.

During the search at his house, the officers found six cellphone covers, believed to be stolen during the robbery.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Cape Town Magistrates’ Court.
