Young age is not a problem to be a hero. A boy bravely rushes for a help and retrieves an 18-month-old baby from a pool in Puttick Avenue in Sundowner, Randburg.
The drowning accident was reported by Netcare 911 officials via Twitter at 18:47 on Thursday.
“Reports from the scene indicate that a young male believed to be approximately 18 months old fell into the pool. He was found submerged by an 8-year-old who rapidly pulled him from water,” Netcare 911 spokesperson Shawn Herbst stated.
The little boy showed no signs of life when paramedics assessed him. Emer-G-Med personnel immediately initiated a cardiopulmonary resuscitation and stabilised the heart rate.
The HALO air ambulance unit was called to airlift the child to hospital, according to Herbst.
