Two men were detained by the police officers. They were suspected of sheep theft worth R40, 000.
According to Captain Aafje Botma, Mohau Maselo and Pitso Montwedi were arrested by the officers on May 15.
A suspicious GWM bakkie was noticed on Bloemhof-Schweizer-Reneke Road. The officers followed the car and stopped it in the Schweizer-Reneke Central Business District.
13 sheep were found in the back of the vehicle. The animals were tied with wires and covered with plastic.
During the follow-up investigation the police have recovered 15 more sheep from the farm.
The suspects are expected to make their appearance at the Schweizer-Reneke Magistrate’s Court.
