Native of SA dies in airplane crash in Dubai

Four people died after a four-seat airplane crashed south of Dubai airport on Thursday, Saudi authorities stated. Three victims were citizens of Great Britain and one was a native of South Africa.

According to the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, the small private aircraft, tail number DA42, registered in the United Kingdom, had been on a mission to calibrate the terrestrial navigation systems at the airport.

The air traffic at the airport returned to normal within an hour after the crash.

The authorities were on the scene for further investigation.
