One man has been hospitalised in serious condition after being hit by lightning. He sustained severe burns on Thursday. The victim was identified by the police as a 25-year-old native of Krugersdorp.
“Paramedics responded to a call about the incident in 4th Street, Krugersdorp North, at around 12:41,” Netcare 911 spokesperson Shawn Herbst averred.
The examination found that burns covered almost 90 per cent of his body.
According to the police officials, he was cutting the grass when the thunderstorm struck the area. The man decided to take shelter under a big tree which was his big mistake.
