A violent assault was witnessed by night club visitors in Port Elizabeth a few weeks ago. A man who is believed to be a victim’s boyfriend walked up to his girlfriend at the club and tried to have a conversation. After a short chat, he started yelling at her and then the second-year law student, Fumani Jacob, 20, had been hit by the male “friend”.
The incident took place in the night club in Port Elizabeth when the woman’s boyfriend assaulted her by hitting her in the face after she had declined his advice.
“Two weeks ago I went out with my cousin and a friend to Cubana, in Humewood. At the end of the night, I decided to call an Uber to go home at about 4 a.m. a male friend of mine came and sat next to me,” the victim said.
Fumani added the man simply could not accept rejection.
