Khama Billiat of Kaizer Chiefs survives car crash

Kaizer Chiefs beat Chippa United 4-2 in the semifinals of the Nedbank Cup at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Sunday. While driving from Port Elizabeth, Khama Billiat, who had scored the 4th goal, had an accident in Midrand, Johannesburg.

“Billiat was involved in an accident [on Sunday] and it was caused by a burst tyre. It happened where the N1 joins the M1 in Midrand. He was going home after we returned from PE,” Chiefs spokesperson Vina Maphosa stated on Monday.

Fortunately, the Zimbabwean forward was not harmed. His Infinity SUV was damaged though.

“He lost control and hit a pavement, but there were no other cars involved. He didn’t sustain any injuries,” Maphosa confirmed.
