A case of armed robbery was reported after three unidentified men broke into the jewellery store at Galleria Mall and ran off with an unknown amount of valuables.
According to police officials, the group rushed into the store and forced employees to the ground at the gunpoint. After breaking display cases, they collected all the jewellery they could find and fled the scene.
Galleria Mall managers stated the accident has happened on Wednesday morning. They also said no one was injured during the robbery.
“The suspects entered the store, stole jewellery and fled the scene within minutes. We continue to work closely with the Saps, security companies and community groups to collectively act against crime,” Galleria Mall general manager Kurt Hoggan said.
The eyewitnesses said that perpetrators had no masks and the police will identify the assailants soon.
