Man arrested for ring robbery in Cape Town

Cape Town police officers have arrested a man for robbery. The man is suspected of allegedly stealing rings.

According to the police spokesperson Sgt. Noloyiso Rwexana, the police have received a call from a man who said he was called by the suspect and presented himself as a traffic officer who needed to get a ring from the shop.

When the complainant came to the shop and opened the door, three men, including the suspect dressed as an officer, forced their way into the premises. They hit the man with an unknown object in his head.

“They smashed two display cases and took rings. They fled the scene, three vehicles were involved.”

During the investigation, officers have arrested a 32-year-old suspect. He is expected to appear in the court.
