Bandile Rotyi, an alleged hitman behind the Hout Bay bloodbath, made his appearance at the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
The man who killed four people entered the court premises barefoot with bandages covering his legs, which were shot during the gunfight. Throughout the short court hearing, severe pain was seen in his eyes.
The police managed to arrest Rotyi at Groote Schuur Hospital as there the perpetrator seek help with his injuries. One of the witnesses later identified him, confirming that Rotyi was involved in the incident and allegedly killed another suspected hitman, a taxi owner and a driver.
The criminal will be held in the prison hospital section ahead of his next court appearance on May 7 for a formal bail application.
