STRICTLY PROHIBITED for children, pregnant women, and psychologically fragile persons.

A video captured by a local resident on a cell phone reveals the truth about the war between taxi men and gangsters. The incident left two people killed in Joburg on Thursday.

“Three men were spotted in action by taxi drivers while robbing a 33-year-old man in Joburg CBD near corner Devilliers and Banket,” Johannesburg police officials said.

“A chase ensued, followed by a shootout which led to a queue marshal and two suspects shot,” the police spokesman, Captain Xoli Mbele said.

The suspect who allegedly shot the marshal dead was chased and killed at the corners of Nugget and Bree Street. The second suspect managed to escape the scene. He is on the run from the police.

Captain Xoli Mbele confirmed that two people were murdered, a 38-year-old suspect and a queue marshal.

“The queue marshal died in hospital. One suspect and the victim are in hospital,” he added.

It is believed that the firearm that belonged to the dead suspect was taken by someone from the scene.
