Four men were arrested after robbing a convenient store at a petrol station in Stellenbosch.
The suspects held the staff at gunpoint and later escaped the scene with money in a gold Toyota Avanza.
SAPS officers managed to arrest the suspects after a high-speed pursuit in Somerset West.
One of the suspects was identified as a police officer from Hout Bay police station. SAPS also confiscated two 9mm pistols.
The suspects are expected to make an appearance in court in Stellenbosch.
The Provincial Commissioner of the Western Cape police, Lt General Khombinkosi Jula stated that SAPS in this province had no place for police officers who lived a double life.
