As paramedics said, a 19-year-old boy was stabbed at least twice with a knife during a brawl outside the grounds of the Mondeor High School.
The unfortunate incident happened in the south of Johannesburg on Wednesday morning.
ER24 paramedics were called to the scene at about 8:00 a.m. where other emergency workers were already assessing the teenager.
“Assessments showed that the patient had sustained a stab wound to his chest and showed no signs of life,” the ER24 crew member said.
They were unable to revive the boy.
“The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations,” the emergency workers said.
The Gauteng education department has not yet commented on this incident which is the latest in a series of stabbings in or around schools over the past few weeks.
