Mthatha slaughter. Did two men become victims of a maniac?

Two men were found hacked to death on Sunday in Mthatha, Eastern Cape. The South African Police Service (SAPS) is investigating the murder case in Lutholi locality.

“It is alleged that today (Monday) at about 05:30, one of the community members saw the two deceased with multiple wounds on their upper bodies at the dongas whilst he was taking his [live]stock to the grazing field,” said the spokesperson Captain Dineo Koena.

The bodies of two men, allegedly aged 35 and 45, were found late on Sunday near a Ford Ranger “in ashes” which is believed to have been owned by one of the victims.

The circumstances and motive behind the cruel double-murder are yet to be figured out.

Following the horrific incident, the police are appealing to anyone who has information that could lead to arrests of the criminals to come forward.
