The Johannesburg Metro Police Department reported that a toddler was found safe on Tuesday in a car reported by his father as hijacked.
“Paramedics were called to Grasmere after local authorities found an abandoned vehicle on a dirt road,” ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said.

“The vehicle was found abandoned between Ennerdale and Finetown in the south of Joburg with the boy still in the vehicle and no suspects in sight,” said David Tembe, the Johannesburg Metro Police Department’s chief.
After the evaluation, the health workers handed the child over to the father, who claimed that they had earlier been hijacked in the Randfontein area.
The police are not revealing any incident details yet.
