One male suspect in Thorisho Themane’s high-profile murder case walks free as the prosecution has decided to withdraw charges against him. The Polokwane Magistrate’s Court approved the application on Monday, however, no reasons behind it have been given to the public.
The man was arrested last week together with two other adults, who allegedly were involved in Themane’s death.
The bloody body of the 27-year-old musician was recovered in a street in Flora Park, Polokwane, on February 25. Reports indicate that a group of teenagers assaulted Themane, brutally beat him with stones and dragged his body through the city. Some parts of the incident were caught on camera and the video shortly became viral on social media.
As investigations started, police arrested six high school pupils, who are now facing murder charges. On Thursday, they will appear in court again.
